WHOI engineers Rick Sisson, John Lund, and Brian Kelly (left to right) inspect the wiring and leak detector at the bottom of a battery pack that will be inserted in the center well of a Coastal Profiler Mooring. The profiler and its cousins are destined for the Pioneer Array of the NSF-funded Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI). The moorings are outfitted with a variety of sensors to monitor the ocean's chemical, biological, and physical properties.
