Bruce Warren's remain were put into a SOFAR float and will be sent adrift at 30000 at miters on the Oceanus Line_W cruise July-Aug 2011.

Jim Valdes holds a float that was deployed on a recent sampling mission to Line W across the Gulf Stream and Deep Western Boundary Current. The float contains the ashes of reknown WHOI physical oceanographer Bruce Warren, copies of his papers, and his obituary that appeared in the publication EOS. Valdes designed the float to remain at a depth of about 10,000 feet and be carried along with the ocean's deep currents that Warren spent his career studying.
