The icebreaker Oden's small boat, Hugin, is named after one of the two ravens that perched on the Norse god Oden's shoulders. Here, it pushes ice floes out of the way as Puma is lowered into an open-ocean pool in the pack ice for a test dive. Though the ice floes seem massive, there is little friction in the ocean, and a shove by the Hugin or even by someone with a long pole creates enough momentum to push floes away.
