Claire Willis started graduate school in the MIT/WHOI Joint Program in June. A week later, she was in the Arctic Ocean. "You're at WHOI for one week, and they send you to sea already?" WHOI engineer John Bailey asked. "I went to sea on my second day-but not for 40 days." Willis made many of the maps for this expedition and is compiling and archiving the reams of data that are streaming in from instruments and vehicles.
